【摘要】:Thispracticeisapplicabletochromatecoatingsofthecolorless(bothoneandtwo-dip),iridescentyelloworbronze,olivedrab,black,colorlessanodic,yelloworblackanodictypes,andofthedyedvariety,whenappliedtosurfacesofelectrodepositedzinc,mechanicallydepositedzinc,hot-dippedzinc,rolledzinc,electrodepositedcadmium,mechanicallydepositedcadmium,andzincdiecastings.Note18212;Colorlesscoatingsarealsoreferredtoasclear-brightorblue-brightcoatings.Becauseofvariablesinherentinthesalt-spraytest,whichmaydifferfromonetestcabinettoanother,interpretationoftestresultsforcompliancewithexpectedperformanceshouldbespecifiedbythepurchaser.Propertiessuchasthickness,color,luster,andabilitytoprovidegoodpaintadhesionarenotcoveredinthispractice,norarethechemicalcompositionandthemethodofapplicationofthesefinishes.1.1Thispracticecoversaprocedureforevaluatingtheprotectivevalueofchemicalandelectrochemicalconversioncoatingsproducedbychromatetreatmentsofzincandcadmiumsurfaces.1.2Theprotectivevalueofachromatecoatingisusuallydeterminedbysalt-spraytestandbydeterminingwhetherornotthecoatingpossessesadequateabrasionresistance.1.3Othermethods,suchasexposuretoahumidityenvironment,canbeused,butaregenerallyoftoolongadurationtobeofpracticalvalue.x201C;SteamTestsx201D;usingpressurecookershavealsobeenusedfortestingchromatefilmsonhot-dipgalvanizedsurfaces.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
