【摘要】:1.1ThisguideprovidesaframeworkforcollectingandhandlingsamplesfordeterminationofbiobasedcontentofmaterialsbymeansofthecarbonisotopemethoddescribedinTestMethodsD6866.Testsforsamplingadequacybasedonthestandardstatisticaltoolsareprovided.Inaddition,reportingoftheresults,includingsamplingtechniquesandhandlingproceduresandchain-of-custodyissuesarediscussed.1.2Thisguideisconcernedwithcollectingrepresentativesampleswithinagivenmaterialoralot,notwithlot-to-lotvariationssuchasconsideredinqualitycontrolschemes.1.3Biobasedmaterialsoftenrepresentsamplingproblemsspecifictoagivenmaterial,suchasheterogeneity,andsoforth,whichrequireemploymentofmaterial-specificsamplingmethods.Theuseofspecializedsamplingmethodsalreadyacceptedandvalidatedbyindustriesthatmanufactureand/orusethebiomaterialisencouraged.However,allsamplingtechniques,especiallynon-standardtechniquesdevelopedforspecificmaterialsmustbereportedinsufficientdetailtoallowcriticalassessmentofthetechniquesused.1.4Carbonisotopeanalysisinvolvesthermalprocessinginpresenceofoxidants.CompatibilityofanygivenmaterialwithTestMethodsD6866mustbeassessed.Specialattentionmustbegiventomaterialswithpotentialforexplosionhazards,suchasperoxides,nitratedcompounds,azides,andsoforth.Examplesofperoxide-formingcompoundsareethers,someketonesandanumberofothercompounds.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.Note18212;ThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOstandard.
